Are banana spiders aggressive?

Golden silk orb-weavers are generally not aggressive toward people and usually bite only when grabbed, trapped, or squeezed. Brazilian wandering spiders can display defensive behavior when threatened, so unidentified large spiders in regions where they occur should not be handled.

Should I kill a banana spider in my yard?

A golden silk orb-weaver usually does not need to be killed and can help capture flying insects around a garden. If a web creates a problem near a doorway or walkway, relocation or environmental changes are generally preferable to unnecessary pesticide use.
